CV8 Short Block

The Cannibal V8 short block is offered in a 4.0 or 4.6 liter configuration.  A short block consists of the CV8 top hat block, hot seal, pistons, rods, crank, main and rod bearings, and finished cam bearings.  Camshaft configuration can be added to the short block build at additional cost for factory (4.0 or 4.6) with timing set or a CV8 level 2 kit.  These engines are usually sold to the shop doing the repair as final configuration is needed prior to installation.  Your engine will still need to be fitted with a set of cylinder heads and we suggest using a stud kit for fastener.

SHIPPING:  The engine can be shipped to a business address in any of the lower 48 states for $150-$225 and we pay the freight charges associated with the return of your core.  If you are outside the continental US, we can provide you with several options including air freight or by sea.  We are a Delta Airlines verified shipper so any location Delta or Delta Partner has service to, we should be able to accomodate.  For service locations please visit Delta Cargo.

CORE RETURN:  In most cases, we will require your old engine back on exchange.  Like exchange also plays a factor in the price of your new engine purchase meaning if you have ordered a 4.6 engine, we would require a 4.6 in exchange or further charges would apply.  If you have questions about this please give us a call to discuss your situation.  We prefer to have picked up the engine core within 30 days of the new engine shipping, so let us know if this is going to be a challenge versus getting charged for it.  The basic core charge is $500 plus extra items that might have been required back with your old engine like oil pumps, cylinder heads, etc.

    Hello , been following you for quite a while my friend has installed 2 of your engines into discos and all has gone well ! do you still make the stroker ? i have a 1989 classic built and still building that will eventually need another motor ( i will never give up on this truck ) and also a 1991 gde #39 this is my parts truck 🙂 please contact me i would like to get the process started thank you john saxton

    We don’t build the stroker any longer as they are difficult to support and expensive to do correctly. Unlike our CannibalV8 engines, they are not plug and play. Your might try Mark @ D&D, otherwise our CV8-40 or 46 might be something to look at, especially if the truck is going to be a daily driver. Contact us back with any further questions.
